About TME E-books

With over 15 years of experience in teaching English, I have dedicated my career to helping language learners overcome the many challenges they face. Holding a Master of Education in TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) and a PhD in Education from Victoria University of Wellington, I have explored various teaching methodologies to enhance language acquisition.

Throughout my journey, I have realized that one of the most significant hurdles for learners is building and retaining vocabulary, a fundamental component of effective communication. Recognizing this challenge, I sought innovative strategies to make vocabulary learning more accessible and meaningful. Through extensive research and practical application, I found that storytelling is a powerful tool in language education.

A wealth of studies supports the idea that contextualized learning—such as acquiring vocabulary through engaging narratives—leads to deeper understanding and long-term retention. Stories provide a natural, immersive environment where learners can encounter new words in meaningful contexts, reinforcing both comprehension and usage.

By integrating storytelling into vocabulary instruction, learners not only expand their word bank but also develop critical thinking, imagination, and a stronger connection to the language. This approach transforms vocabulary acquisition from rote memorization into an enjoyable, interactive process, fostering a love for learning that extends beyond the classroom.
